Maternity Nurse

Help and guide parents during the postnatal period.

  • Support parents with both caregiving and household tasks.
  • Ensure the new mother has time to recover and adjust to the new situation.
  • Work in a homely atmosphere with flexible hours and much variety.
  • Possibility to be deployed in home care for the elderly and those in need of care.

What you will do.

  • Provide support with feeding and caring for the baby and possibly older children.
  • Perform household tasks: preparing meals, washing, ironing, cleaning, shopping.
  • Offer a listening ear to new parents.

Profile

  • You possess a diploma or certificate to work as a caregiver.
  • A diploma in childcare or experience with children is a plus.
  • You speak fluent Dutch.
  • You can organize your work independently.
  • You are flexible and responsible.
  • You are motivated, punctual, and accurate.
  • You are socially aware and have a positive attitude towards diversity.
  • You are discreet and reliable.

Practical aspects.

  • You will travel independently to families' homes.
  • Regular meetings with your manager, colleagues, and the midwife in your region.
  • Fixed training moments (physical and e-learning) and a free offer of annual training courses (breastfeeding, baby massage, the first 1000 days, etc.).
  • Constant availability of the midwife in your region for questions or problems.
  • Basic training and the opportunity to shadow an experienced colleague for new caregivers.
  • An organization that is breastfeeding-friendly.
