Ambulatory Youth and Family Counselor

• You conduct home visits, build a relationship of trust, and work together on sustainable change.
• You look not only at the problems but especially at the strengths and opportunities within the family.
• With methodical insight, creativity, and a warm approach, you teach families new skills and actively practice them with them, in their own environment.
• You guide families with complex issues who want to move forward on their own but sometimes need a push.
• You know how to connect, motivate, and make goals concrete together.
• You work with different family dynamics and know that each family needs something different.
• You write care plans, report on successes and challenges, and support families with various requests for help.
• You work methodically and purposefully to strengthen families and increase their self-reliance, with an eye on long-term independence.
• You collaborate within a basic team, learn from each other, grow together, and share successes.
• You have excellent knowledge of the social map and youth and family services, and know what help is appropriate and when to involve other expertise.
• You have a lot of freedom to organize your own agenda and activities and work independently, with the ability to rely on colleagues and the basic team.
• You are flexible in working hours to align with the daily lives of families, including evening visits if necessary.

What they ask

• Completed HBO bachelor's degree in an pedagogical field (e.g., Social Work or Pedagogy), or a WO degree in Orthopedagogy (possibly supplemented with a practical program).
• SKJ registered (or immediately registrable).
• In possession of a driving license and own transport, and willing to travel throughout the province for work.
• A Christian faith conviction and willingness to discuss it.

• Salary: scale 8.
• Contract: 12 months, with possibility of extension.
• Development: 1.5% career budget, career paths, and internal academy with ample opportunities (e.g., IAG training).
• Travel expense scheme: mileage allowance or NS Business Card and a bicycle plan.
• Extras: 170 leave hours (for a 36-hour week), vitality days, 8.3% year-end bonus, 8% holiday allowance, pension scheme, and €75 sports budget per year.
