You will join a metal processing production company that produces technical custom solutions for the construction and industrial sectors.
- Production includes sawing and CNC machining of metal profiles, supplemented by further manual processing and assembly.
- Everything is produced on a project basis and custom-made.
- Within a compact SME structure, communication lines are short, and there is room to further professionalize processes.
What you will do.
- You will take daily charge of the production environment.
- You will organize activities, monitor planning, and ensure that quality, safety, and efficiency are consistently followed up.
- You will be visible on the shop floor and guide the production team with operational and technical issues.
- You will work closely with those responsible for order processing, planning, purchasing, warehouse, and assembly.
- You will align production planning with assembly and installation planning, ensuring orders are ready correctly and on time.
- When necessary, you will also coordinate with external partners for transport, maintenance, or technical support.
- You will support the implementation of an ERP solution, help convert existing working methods into clear digital processes, and ensure sufficient support on the shop floor.
- You will combine process knowledge with change management and consider the practical needs of the team.
- You will daily manage the production team and ensure a clear division of tasks.
- You will organize and optimize production planning.
- You will monitor the quality of materials, raw materials, and finished parts.
- You will support employees with first-line problems with machines and installations and maintain contacts with suppliers for maintenance and technical support.
- You will ensure the efficient and qualitative use of the machine park.
- You will participate in improvement projects and structural process optimization.
- You will report on production KPIs, planning, bottlenecks, and improvement actions to the management.
Profile
- Experience as a manager within a production environment and experience with organizing and monitoring production planning.
- Experience in metalworking, technical carpentry, or a similar custom production environment is a significant plus.
- Technical insight and good knowledge of production processes and machine parks.
- A strong people manager who can guide, motivate, and involve employees in change.
- Hands-on and able to approach first-line problems practically and solution-oriented.
- Strong communication skills and smooth collaboration with planning, assembly, warehouse, purchasing, and management.
- A bridge-builder, but also sufficiently assertive to substantiate viewpoints and make decisions.
- Good knowledge of Dutch and French, enabling smooth communication with employees on the production floor.
