What you will do. As a Data Specialist, you have a dynamic role and work with colleagues from different parts of a government institution. The role has several important tasks:
- Extracting the right data, combining different data sources, and building relevant data pipelines and HR dashboards;
- Developing a plan to further expand these dashboards and the data warehouse;
- Professionalizing awareness, knowledge, and use of management information;
- Providing relevant information to answer business questions.
Responsibilities.
- Inventorying and analyzing available data within the (HR) operations of the organization and from other sources;
- Applying data analysis and data science methods and techniques to extract added value from data;
- Making data available and accessible in a data warehouse environment in a usable form suitable for analysis;
- Working with a diversity of (open, closed, and commercial) data sources, with safety, reliability, and availability being central.
Develops, researches, and maintains the (big) data architecture by:
- Mapping the specifications of the desired data architecture in consultation with other parties, such as suppliers and users, to deliver the desired result;
- Maintaining and managing data warehouse, (CI/CD) pipelines, and dashboards.
Ensures knowledge and experience by:
- Recording/documenting and disseminating acquired knowledge in reports, presentations, and guidelines;
- Knowledge sharing within the team.
- Increasing data awareness among (end) users/stakeholders.
What they ask Technical.
- Experience with developing data pipelines (ETL) and data modeling.
- Experience with data visualization (PowerBI/PL-300).
Other.
- A completed HBO education (bachelor) or HBO work and thinking level. Demonstrable through a combination of knowledge, education, and experience, if necessary verifiable in an assessment;
- Experience participating in multidisciplinary teams/projects;
- Experience in project-based collaboration for realizing end-to-end solutions;
- Knowledge of Agile/SCRUM way of working.
Preferences.
- Experience with Python, SQL/Postgres, and Data Vault modeling is a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git(lab) is a plus.
- Affinity or experience with a government institution is a plus.
- Knowledge of Data Science applications and solutions;
- Knowledge of IT security, threat analysis, and risk management;
- Knowledge of modern IT applications and techniques.
