Data Modeler
Data plays an increasingly important role in the work of a defense organization. Behind every analysis, report, and decision lies a solid data structure. As a Data Modeler, you ensure that this structure is correct. You bring order to complex information flows and ensure that data remains reliable, traceable, and usable for the organization. In this way, you make a direct contribution to the information position of the organization.
What you will do. As a Data Modeler, you will work on the foundations of information provision within an environment where reliability and security are essential. You translate information needs from operations into robust data models and ensure that data is structured in a consistent and future-proof manner. In this role, you will be involved in, among other things:
- Designing and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models that align with the organization's information needs
- Translating data issues from operational teams into clear and workable data structures
- Improving existing data models to increase performance, scalability
- Ensuring that data models comply with applicable guidelines, security requirements, and legislation such as the GDPR
- Documenting data models, definitions, and processes to ensure knowledge and structure are maintained within the organization
- Coordinating with other departments within the defense organization to ensure proper alignment of data exchange and standards
What they ask You combine analytical ability with an eye for detail and possess the communication skills to bridge the gap between technology and operations. For this position, you bring:
- A relevant HBO education, for example in (business) informatics, data science, or information science
- Knowledge of relational databases, data architecture
- Experience with ER modeling, data modeling software
- Insight into big data, business data, and physical data models
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
- Flexibility and the ability to operate in a complex, rapidly changing environment
Practical
- A security screening and reference check are part of the selection procedure
- An assessment may be part of the selection procedure
- To be eligible for this position, you must be from a country within the European Economic Area. If this is not the case, you must have a combined permit for residence and work (GVVA)
