Scaffolding Project Manager

This role involves large-scale projects with tight schedules and many different parties working on the same construction site. You will maintain an overview and ensure that people, materials, and planning come together at the right time. This concerns projects in Belgium.

What you will do. As a Project Manager, you are responsible for the day-to-day management and progress of one or more projects. You spend a significant amount of time on site, know what is happening, and always look ahead. Do you see a potential issue coming? You don’t wait for it to become a problem; you take action and make sure it gets resolved. Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing and supporting (Assistant) Site Managers and other colleagues
  • Preparing and monitoring project and workforce planning
  • Preparing and monitoring work and safety plans
  • Monitoring project progress and budgets
  • Managing and coordinating additional and reduced works
  • Maintaining close contact with the client
  • Coordinating with subcontractors and other parties on site
  • Reviewing drawings and monitoring the correct execution of the work
  • Managing project administration and documentation
  • Participating in project kick-off, progress, and construction meetings
  • Carrying out and coordinating scaffolding and workplace inspections
  • Monitoring safety, quality, order, and cleanliness on site

Working on these projects is not an average construction project. These are large, technically complex projects where many different disciplines work alongside each other. Schedules are tight, and activities are closely interconnected. Safety is an an essential part of everything you do. You address people when necessary, make sure agreements and procedures are followed, and take action before a situation becomes a problem.

Profile

You are an experienced Project Manager with a solid background in scaffolding. You know what it takes to deliver a project safely, efficiently, and according to schedule. You keep an overview, take responsibility, and switch easily between the client, the construction site, and your own team. You thrive in an environment where high safety standards are the norm. In addition:

  • You have at least a secondary vocational (MBO) level of education and professional competence
  • You have knowledge of the Scaffolding Guidelines
  • You have strong technical insight and are able to read and assess technical drawings
  • You keep a close eye on costs, progress
  • You provide clear and supportive leadership to (Assistant) Site Managers and other colleagues
  • You communicate easily with clients, subcontractors
  • You are decisive and are comfortable addressing people when necessary
  • You are able to communicate effectively in both Dutch and English, which are the working languages on the projects
  • You hold a VCA VOL certificate and a valid category B driving licence
