As an Environmental Management Advisor, you are the link between a project (renewal, fixed and variable maintenance) and its environment. You operate within the environmental management process within the team and maintain a good relationship with external stakeholders, such as provinces, water authorities, and municipalities. You identify interests and opportunities for collaboration and inform the project environment (residents and businesses) with a sense of political-administrative relations.
You coordinate, build support, and make agreements on how these will be incorporated into the project result. The project focuses on making the drive installations in locks, weirs, movable bridges, and pumping stations in an important river and associated canals future-proof.
What you will do.
- Actively collaborate with the project team.
- Serve as a link between the project team and involved parties: internal stakeholders (other projects or departments), other governments, social organizations, and the business community.
- Identify interests and opportunities for collaboration and translate these into project results.
- Guide investigations.
- Prepare permit processes.
- Stakeholder management (internal and external).
- Draft various plans, such as nuisance reduction and communication plans.
- Provide input for drafting contracts.
- Involve stakeholders, convince them, and achieve desired results with a sense of political-administrative relations.
- Process data in various ICT systems.
Profile
- Experienced environmental advisor for renewal assignments and fixed and variable maintenance, including support during emergencies.
- Deployable for both contractual activities (supporting the contract team) and supervising implementation.
- Reliable in agreements, coordination, and informing the environment.
- Affinity with technical challenges in the fields of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and construction.
- Sufficiently capable of translating technical explanations into an understandable story for the environment.
- Work within a large multidisciplinary project team.
What they ask
- Minimum of a relevant completed HBO-level (higher professional education) degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience at a comparable level.
- In possession of a VCA-VOL certificate or willing to obtain it at own expense within 2 months.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with project-based work within the IPM model of a government organization that works with system-oriented contract management.
- Experience with at least 4 of the following work areas:
- Communication issues (e.g., writing communication plans, handling public and construction communication, developing communication tools).
- Technical issues in 1 or more of the following fields: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, construction.
- Projects in the contract preparation phase.
- Conditioning investigations.
- Permit issuance.
- Stakeholder management.
