Social consultant youth

A government organization is looking for a temporary social consultant for youth. You are a connector with a heart for youth and family, with an eye for safety, collaboration, and tailor-made solutions.
What you will do.
- First point of contact for young people and their parents.
- Engages in conversation with the resident and their environment to carefully identify the request for help.
- Discovers together with the resident what is truly needed, looks at their own network, and engages specialist help where necessary.
- Develops a future-oriented plan after broad clarification of the request.
- Assesses additional care needs, draws up a decision, and implements it.
- Monitors progress, safeguards goals, and coordinates with the family and involved care providers throughout the process.
- Assesses a child's safety situation, acts according to the reporting code, and collaborates with agencies such as Veilig Thuis or the Council for Child Protection.
- Actively participates in case discussions, network consultations, intervision, and projects that contribute to the further development of the youth team.
- Helps shape work processes for the implementation of the Youth Act.

- Knows their own limits and sees them as a strength.
- Combines expertise with an inquisitive mind: asks probing questions, looks at the environment and the system in which people live, and seeks the question behind the question.
- Enjoys pioneering and has sufficient self-confidence to work in a dynamic field where not everything is yet fixed.
- Strong communication skills, a connecting attitude, and the ability to signal safety situations and act accordingly.
- A solution-oriented and collaborative mindset.
What they ask
- At least a recognized, completed, and full diploma at HBO (higher professional education) level.
- Valid SKJ registration or the possibility to obtain one.
- Several years of relevant work experience in working with youth and families.
- Current knowledge of the Youth Act (Jeugdwet), compulsion, and coercion.
- Agreement with secondment conditions.
Preferences.
- Knowledge of methodologies and the social map.
- Work experience within municipal government.
