Hydrologist
A government organization is working towards a livable, climate-resilient, and water-rich environment. The water system is under pressure due to climate change, sea-level rise, and soil subsidence, leading to drought, water excess, salinization, and challenges for water quality. The organization is working on a future-proof water system. This position directly contributes to a livable and climate-resilient area by addressing important water-related issues.
What you will do.
- Develop and implement policies for water quantity and water quality.
- Translate policies, administrative agreements, and laws and regulations into practice, including within nitrogen reduction and nature restoration programs.
- Ensure a strong hydrological substantiation of projects.
- Advise colleagues, project teams, and, where necessary, administrators.
- Initiate and assess (geo)hydrological studies and translate the results into practical solutions.
- Manage the development of integrated water plans for island areas.
- Contribute to area development and nature restoration with hydrological knowledge.

- Completed HBO or WO education in a relevant field, such as (Geo)hydrology, Water Management, Earth Sciences, Soil, Water and Atmosphere, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or Physical Geography.
- Affinity with groundwater and surface water, water quality, and water systems.
- Ability to translate complex information into practical, well-founded advice.
- Good communication skills and the ability to easily switch between colleagues, administrators, and external partners.
