You will work on projects in public spaces, such as roads, residential areas, and waterways. Your role is to ensure that plans are prepared in such a way that they can be built outdoors without complications. Within an urban development department, you take on this responsibility in significant projects, ranging from major maintenance to complete area developments.
What you will do. As a work preparer, you ensure that a plan is not only well-documented but can also be built.
- You review a design and immediately think through: is this technically correct, is it feasible, and what will it mean on site?
- You elaborate designs into specification drawings for roads, site layout, and waterways.
- You draw up RAW specifications, create cost estimates, and manage the tendering process.
- You lay the foundation for the execution, and this foundation must be accurate.
- You are involved in projects from the very beginning, contributing to choices, identifying potential bottlenecks, and proposing solutions.
- During execution, you remain involved and liaise with project managers and supervisors if practical situations differ from the plan.
- You have extensive contact with contractors and engineering firms.
- In construction teams and collaborations, you ensure that plans and execution align.
- You oversee the whole and ensure that everyone works with the same principles.

- Experience with reading and writing (RAW) specifications
- Experience with CAD (Microstation is a plus)
- Knowledge of modern contract forms (UAV-gc is a plus)
- Experience with multiple restricted tenders
Work environment. You will work for an urban development department, within the project management and contract preparation team. This team is jointly responsible for the outcome of public space projects.
