GZ psychologist

Do you want to work as a GZ-psychologist at the intersection of forensic psychiatry and specialist mental healthcare? You will seek new solutions and possibilities for patients. You contribute to a safer society and a new perspective for patients in a specialized intensive care unit, together with an expert and close-knit team.

What you will do.

• You are the driving force behind the treatment of a complex target group: people with a severe psychiatric disorder who are struggling in regular care and require security level 2-low forensic care.
• You conduct intakes, draw up treatment plans, and carry out treatments according to the latest guidelines.
• You perform (neuro)psychological and psychodiagnostic assessments, interpret the results, and discuss them with colleagues and patients.
• You work with the multidisciplinary team on innovative treatment methods and actively contribute to improving care.
• Your work is essential for reducing risks and promoting recovery.
• The goal of the treatment is to reduce the patient's problems and risks in such a way that they can safely transition to a place where less intensive care is needed.

What they ask

• Academic level psychological expertise, supplemented with the professional training of a GZ-psychologist.
• BIG-registered and possesses an AGB code.
• Knowledge of and demonstrable experience in psychological treatment methods and techniques, and knowledge of DSM IV.
• Affinity with clinical (forensic) mental healthcare.
• Perseverance, ability to bridge differences, and persuasive power.
• Capable of making independent and quick decisions but also consults colleagues in time when necessary.
• Affinity with the complexity of psychiatry, addiction care, and forensic aspects.
• Capable of making assessments regarding your own safety and that of others and maintaining control over this.
• Respect for others is paramount; you must be able to enter the treatment room or living group without prejudice.
