Privacy Officer
A government organization is looking for an independent Senior Privacy Officer to achieve specific results. The assignment consists of two phases, with the first phase focusing on preparing the organization for a WPG audit and delivering a privacy policy. If successful, a follow-up assignment for phase 2 may be granted.
What you will do.
- Guide the organization towards WPG audit readiness, including drafting a complete control file, advising on improvement measures, and testing the follow-up of findings.
- Set up and deliver a usable processing register that demonstrably complies in design, existence, and operation.
- Develop and propose a privacy policy for approval.
- Develop a framework for the assessment and application of processor agreements.
- Advise and guide on privacy issues during the assignment, including data breach notifications and DPIA processes.
Profile
The assignment is carried out on the basis of professional independence. The contractor independently determines the method of execution, the approach, and the planning. There is no hierarchical management. Coordination takes place with the Data Protection Officer (as supervisor under the GDPR) regarding progress, risks, and results, with the contractor remaining responsible for the execution of the assignment.

- Minimum of 5 years demonstrable work experience as a Privacy Officer, Privacy Advisor, and/or Privacy Consultant or similar function/role.
- Minimum of 3 years demonstrable work experience as a Privacy Officer, Privacy Advisor, and/or Privacy Consultant or similar function/role within a municipal or government institution.
- Demonstrable work experience with the application of the GDPR and the Police Data Act (Wpg) within a government organization.
- Demonstrable work experience with privacy and/or Wpg audits, including audit preparation, audit follow-up, and/or building and assessing control files/evidence for demonstrable compliance.
- Demonstrable work experience with DPIAs, processing registers, data breaches, and privacy governance/processes.
Preferences.
- Minimum of 2 years demonstrable work experience in the past 5 years as a Senior Privacy Officer, senior privacy advisor, or similar role within a municipal or other public organization, having independently advised management and/or process owners.
- Demonstrable work experience with preparing and/or guiding an organization towards a Wpg audit, including building and/or assessing audit evidence, advising on improvement measures, and/or guiding the follow-up of audit findings.
- Demonstrable work experience with developing and/or implementing privacy policy, privacy governance, frameworks, and/or work processes within a government or public organization.
- Demonstrable work experience with independently performing and/or guiding DPIAs and advising on privacy issues in the field of processing registers, data breaches, data sharing, and/or processor agreements.
- Demonstrable work experience with providing workshops and/or knowledge transfer in the field of privacy and data protection to management, process owners, and/or employees within a government or public organization.
- At least a demonstrable completed HBO bachelor's degree in a legal, administrative, information science direction, or similar.
