Data Architect

This assignment concerns a role at a technology company in the Ghent region. The position can be filled with either a permanent or a freelance contract and is focused on the long term.

What you will do.

• Provide technical architecture support to multiple product teams throughout the entire data lifecycle.
• Take technical leadership and actively participate in development activities within the data platform.
• Design, develop, and monitor end-to-end data architectures.
• Design and implement data solutions based on business requirements.
• Contribute to the development of data architectures, strategies, and policies.
• Develop guidelines and solutions around data governance, master data management, metadata management, data quality, and data security.
• Build and maintain metadata-driven frameworks within Databricks.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as Compliance, Privacy, Risk, Information Security, Support, and Operations.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Contribute to an agile delivery model and solve complex technical issues.

What they ask

• Demonstrable experience as a Data Engineer, Data Architect, Data Analyst, BI/Analytics Developer, or in data platform administration.
• Very strong hands-on experience with Databricks — at the level of a highly experienced Data Engineer.
• Experience building and maintaining metadata-driven frameworks on Databricks.
• Experience with Azure Data Platform, including:
• Azure Databricks
• ADLS
• Azure SQL Database
• Knowledge/experience with Python and/or Spark.
• Experience with CI/CD and version control, preferably Git.
• Experience defining and managing end-to-end, scalable Data Architectures.
• Knowledge of data governance, MDM, metadata management, data quality, and data security.
• Experience with enterprise architecture and relevant architecture/industry standards.
• Experience with collaborating with various business and IT stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Structured way of working within an agile environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-have.

• Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Experience with Power BI.
• Knowledge of Angular.
• Experience in an environment with complex enterprise data platforms.
