Make a difference for children with hearing and visual impairments (deafblindness) and work together on their future at a specialized school for students with deafblindness. In a class of approximately 4 students, the most suitable curriculum and teaching method are determined for each individual student. You will work with about 50 colleagues who are all specialized in language and communication, including teachers, speech therapists, internal supervisors, sign language teachers, and behavioral specialists.
What you do
- Guide students during lesson activities, one-on-one or one-on-two.
- Provide daily care and support to students where necessary.
- Contribute to the organization of school and educational activities.
- Adapt the approach to the talents, possibilities, and situation of each individual student.
- Support the implementation of the educational program.
Profile
- Completed at least a relevant MBO 4 education.
- Enjoys collaborating with the teacher and feels comfortable in a supportive role.
- Can carefully execute guidance trajectories and adapt them to the needs of the student.
- Possesses patience and natural authority to guide children with behavioral challenges.
- Proficient in Dutch Sign Language (NGT), or motivated to learn it.
- Has an expressive and natural communication style.
- Possesses self-reflection and can adapt well to the student.
Practical
- Gross monthly salary in accordance with the collective labor agreement for primary education (scale OOP 4) for a full working week.
