As an environmental permit officer, you are the process owner of (complex) permit processes and responsible for the complete handling of permit applications within the applicable deadlines. You recognize interconnections with other processes and know when to engage (external) advisors, taking a proactive role. For some plans, you participate in the environmental consultation table to determine the best strategy for permit issuance, even in the preliminary consultation phase.
You also contribute, if desired, to the handling of objections and appeals. You bring your expertise to integrated projects, either through direct participation in the project team or through coordination with fellow permit officers. Providing information and guidance to residents and entrepreneurs about regulations and procedures is also part of your duties.
The assignment requires an independently working professional who, based on their own expertise, carries out the tasks and ensures timely and high-quality handling of dossiers.

- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 10 years as an environmental permit officer within a government organization
- Demonstrably completed education at a minimum of mbo level 4
- Demonstrably in possession of an ABW1 diploma
- Demonstrable work experience with the Environmental Act (Omgevingswet) and environmental law
Preferences.
- Demonstrably completed education at a minimum of mbo level 4 in the field of Construction or Legal
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 10 years as an environmental permit officer within a government organization
- Demonstrably in possession of an ABW2 diploma
- Demonstrable work experience with the case management system InProces and Centric Leefomgeving
