As a triage officer for a medical contact center, you are the first point of contact for patients. You assess the care request, determine the urgency, and ensure that everyone receives the right help quickly. You work in a close-knit team. The medical contact center provides 24/7 remote general practitioner care to various target groups.
What you do
- You provide remote general practitioner care to, among others, asylum seekers and detainees.
- You are the first point of contact for patients at asylum seeker centers and for the police and Royal Netherlands Marechaussee regarding detainees.
- You ask the right questions by phone to clarify the patient's care request and then determine the urgency.
- You process the information in various systems.
- You engage an interpreter if necessary to accurately understand the care request.
- You ensure that the correct healthcare professional is involved and that the appropriate follow-up steps are taken.
- You work closely with fellow triage officers and under the supervision of a coordinating physician who is always available for consultation.
- You will initially be trained in healthcare for asylum seekers, after which you can be further trained for medical care for detainees after some time.
Profile
- You are a graduated MBO or HBO nurse, doctor's assistant, or medical student with a bachelor's degree.
- If necessary, you will follow a triage training.
- You have an affinity with general practitioner care and an interest in caring for special target groups.
- You speak good Dutch and English.
- Proficiency in the Arabic language is a plus.
