As a primary technology knowledge holder, you design high-voltage substations and networks for an international market leader in industrial services.
- You work within the High Voltage department of the Engineering domain and are the knowledge holder of primary technology in multidisciplinary projects.
- You design, calculate, and optimize the main components of high-voltage substations and networks, such as transformers and switchgear.
- You translate complex client requests into safe, reliable designs and serve as the technical point of contact for your colleagues.
- You work in a multidisciplinary team covering primary, secondary, civil, cables, lines & masts, BIM, and GIS, in an environment where you can learn and grow.
What you do
- Prepare specifications for high-voltage components (transformers, switches) and provide technical support during the procurement process.
- Be the point of contact for technical questions regarding primary technology and advise stakeholders.
- Contribute to writing proposals and hour estimates for feasibility studies, basic design (BO), and to a lesser extent, detailed design (DO) and execution design (UO) projects.
- Perform network calculations, short-circuit current calculations, and component dimensioning.
- Coordinate with clients, grid operators, and contractors and explain your design choices.
- Project manage small projects with a focus on primary aspects.
- Review engineers' work and assess design documentation, calculations, and FAT/SAT test plans.
- Guide CAD work in Microstation and Revit and train junior and medior engineers.
- Apply Systems Engineering, IEC standards, and Safety by Design.
What they ask for.
- Completed HBO or WO education, for example, Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience with the design, realization, or management of high-voltage installations or complex technical infrastructure.
- In-depth knowledge of high-voltage substations, transformers, GIS installations, and cable connections.
- Familiarity with the standards of TenneT and ELIA, NEN-EN-IEC 61936, NEN 3840, NEN 3140, and Systems Engineering.
- Experience with Microstation, Revit, Relatics, and BIM is a plus.
- Good command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
- Experience in coaching and training colleagues.
