You will be part of a department focused on strategic programs and projects for the future development of public transport in an urban region. One of the programs aims to future-proof the metro network and double the frequency on specific lines. This includes:
- Renewal and expansion of metro vehicles
- Modernization of infrastructure, such as adaptation of traction and power supply
- Expansion and modernization of a workshop
Due to the metro network upgrade, the arrival of new 90-meter metro vehicles, and the renewal of a central workshop, adaptations are needed at a specific location. Before the new workshop is fully available, this location must be suitable for the maintenance and washing of the new vehicles. In addition, the site must function as an additional maintenance location and a backup in case of emergencies.
What you will do. You are responsible for realizing an extra maintenance track (workstation) and car wash at the location concerned. You report to the program manager and perform, among other things, the following activities:
- Directing and coordinating the plan development, engineering, and preparation of the adaptations
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders such as Operations, Maintenance, Asset Management, Technology, and internal business operations
- Managing scope, planning, budget, risks, interfaces
- Organizing and guiding design, review, and decision-making processes
- Preparing and guiding tendering and contracting
- Monitoring operational integration and continuity of the workshop during the work
- Preparing and directing the realization, including safety, quality, progress
What they ask
- A completed HBO/WO (higher professional education/university) degree (preferably civil or mechanical engineering)
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in technical project management, engineering, or infrastructure projects
- Demonstrable experience with multidisciplinary design or realization projects
- Ability to work independently, quickly find your way in a new organization, and proactively seek coordination
- Experience with stakeholders, suppliers, and technical documentation
- Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
