Support Worker 24 hour Shelter

• You start your shift with a handover from colleagues.
• You are visibly present at the shelter facility.
• You make contact with guests, offer a listening ear, and ensure a welcoming and safe environment.
• You monitor peace and safety, enforce house rules and safety agreements, and address individuals when necessary.
• You perform practical and administrative tasks, such as keeping common areas tidy, processing shelter registrations and payments, and ensuring a smooth handover.

• Demonstrable affinity with vulnerable people and a committed, respectful supportive attitude.
• Practically oriented and willing to get hands-on.
• Remain calm, clear, and engaged, even with guests dealing with substance abuse or psychiatric issues.
• Dares to set boundaries and treats everyone with respect.
• Assertive and able to address people about their behavior when necessary.
• A relevant MBO level 4 diploma (Dutch vocational education).
• Experience in hospitality is a plus.
