As a personal counselor, you play an important role in the recovery process of participants. You build a relationship of trust and work together towards their future. A shelter facility offers a temporary safe base for single adults who have become homeless due to various circumstances. Within the 24-hour crisis shelter, participants receive rest, stability, and the necessary support to regain perspective.
There is also a residential facility for participants taking the next step towards independence, where they work, with appropriate guidance, towards their own home. Additionally, permanent winter shelter is provided for migrant workers and a winter cold scheme is in place.
What you will do.
- Map out participants' possibilities, goals, and wishes and translate them into a personal guidance plan.
- Conduct regular discussions to review progress and adjust where necessary.
- Maintain active contact with therapists, family members, and other stakeholders to coordinate guidance effectively.
- Create a safe, calm, and positive living environment.
- Provide structure where needed, set clear boundaries, and actively motivate participants to work on their goals.
- Pay attention to the personal situation, quality, and individuality of each participant to help them gradually gain more control over their own lives.
Profile
- Completed HBO (higher professional education) degree, preferably in Social Work.
- Experience and affinity with the target group and experience in maintaining contacts with external agencies and chain partners.
- Stress-resistant and able to maintain an overview, even during peak moments.
- Independent, but also knows when to seek help from colleagues.
- Tactful and able to switch effectively between different situations.
- A true connector with the drive to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and occasionally during holidays.
- You are a Christian and can indicate what that means to you.
- A certificate of good conduct (VOG) is required.
