An organization is looking for a residential counselor for a protected living environment. The residents have just completed a detoxification program and are working on further recovery. The environment is an old monastery building where 16 residents are housed, guided by a passionate team.
What you will do.
- Guide residents in rebuilding their lives.
- Provide structure and increase independence.
- Teach residents to deal with emotions without substances.
- Celebrate small and large successes.
- Support residents who are struggling.
- Perform duties in line with the goals set by the personal counselor.
- Implement action plans and motivate and stimulate residents.
- Document all findings in reports.
Profile
- Completed MBO education, preferably MBO-4 MMZ, SPW or a comparable qualification.
- Willingness to work varying shifts (day/evening/night/weekends).
- Be resilient and have angelic patience.
- Be able to confront without judging.
- Understand that humor is sometimes the shortest path to connection.
- Do not panic at emotions, relapse, or resistance.
- Be professionally close without losing yourself.
- Experience in addiction care, mental health care (GGZ), or protected living is a plus.
- Life experience, self-reflection, and a big heart are at least as important.
- A Christian identity and being able to state what that means to you.
- A certificate of good conduct (VOG) is required.
Practical
- Salary according to the Social Work Collective Labor Agreement, scale 6.
- 12-month contract with the intention to extend or convert to a permanent contract.
