Career Counsellor HR Business Partner

The core of this assignment is to guide employees in their next career step within a changing organization in the financial sector. You will guide employees in commercial activities in their development, career choices, and internal mobility. During organizational transformations, you will help employees gain insight into their possibilities and prepare for changing roles and competency needs.

You will join an HR Business team with Business Counsellors, Career Counsellors, and HR Officers, led by a Strategic Business Partner. You will guide an employee population in the northern part of the country. You will conduct the conversations yourself and follow up on actions. You will work with talented employees and new colleagues, but also guide people in difficult situations such as reorganization, reintegration, underperformance, or limited employability.

What you do

  • Conduct career conversations: discuss ambitions, competencies, and development needs, and explore possible next steps.
  • Connect personal development with the future of the organization: help employees build competencies that align with the needs of commercial activities.
  • Guide talent and key figures: discuss development opportunities and follow up on actions that contribute to growth and retention.
  • Support new employees in their development and career within the organization.
  • Stimulate internal mobility: guide employees towards opportunities within other roles or teams.
  • Guide employees during reorganizations, reintegration, underperformance, and limited employability: together with involved HR colleagues and managers, explore appropriate solutions.
  • Draw up and follow up on concrete action plans regarding development, further training, retraining, and mobility.
  • Carefully record career and mobility information and contribute to the improvement of the tools used.
  • Organize or guide mobility days and workshops, in coordination with the Strategic Business Partner.
  • Be the direct point of contact for employees for non-administrative HR questions.

What they ask

  • You have 5 to 8 years of relevant HR experience, with experience in career counselling and/or HR business partnering.
  • You have personally guided individual employees and can provide concrete examples of your approach, follow-up, and results.
  • You help employees discover their possibilities and make realistic choices.
  • You translate career wishes into feasible development and mobility steps within an organization.
  • You can weigh personal interests against the competency and personnel needs of the business.
  • You conduct difficult conversations clearly and respectfully and remain objective.
  • You are fluent in Dutch, French, and English, also during sensitive employee conversations.
  • You have a university degree or significant managerial experience.
  • You possess strong MS Office skills.
  • Knowledge of social legislation is a plus.
  • You listen actively, communicate clearly, and possess strong negotiation skills.
  • You work independently and accurately, monitor agreements, and coordinate with colleagues and managers.
  • You handle confidential information carefully, recognize risks, and remain calm under pressure.
