You play an important role in improving the mental health of detainees within a penitentiary institution. By applying various interventions, you contribute to increasing the chance of successful reintegration into society and reducing the risk of recidivism.
What you do
- Work individually with detainees on their mental health.
- Contribute to improving the general detention climate.
- Provide direction and content to mental healthcare within the institution.
- Apply psychological interventions, diagnostics, and indications for detainees requiring extra psychomedical care in (crisis) situations.
- Consult and treat detainees.
- Guide any aftercare.
- Consult with the care team.
- Maintain control over treatment when external experts are involved.
- Conduct intake interviews.
- Advise management and other disciplines on the provision and guidance of mental healthcare.
- Participate in psychomedical consultations.
- Conduct progress interviews under the instruction of the primary therapist.
What they ask
- Completed university education in psychology (bachelor and master).
- Relevant work experience and affinity with working within forensic frameworks.
- Experience with cognitive behavioral therapy.
Practical
- An assessment may be part of the application procedure.
- A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is required; the costs for this will be reimbursed.
- A motivation letter is required.
- Option for an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 16.5% of the gross annual salary or extra vacation days.
