Project leader living with a plus and residential care zone
In 2024, the local Action Plan for Living, Care, and Welfare 2024-2026 was established, with an update in preparation for 2027-2029. This plan forms the basis for a programmatic approach and collaboration between care parties, a municipal organization, a housing corporation, and welfare organizations. The ambition is to create an inclusive community where vulnerable people can continue to live, participate in society, and receive appropriate care.
To achieve these ambitions, new living forms and collaboration models are needed, such as 'Living with a Plus' and 'residential care zones'. A residential care zone is a delimited part of an existing neighborhood where elderly and vulnerable residents can continue to live independently through the integration of living, welfare, support, and care. The goal is to realize a caring neighborhood with daily facilities, meeting places, information, support, and care within walking or rollator distance.
The zone remains a mixed neighborhood, supported by structural collaboration between the municipal organization, a housing corporation, care and welfare partners, and residents, with a focus on prevention and a strong social base.
'Living with a Plus' supports independent living for the elderly by focusing on meeting, mutual acquaintance, and caring for each other. It creates caring living communities where residents have their privacy, but can also easily meet, undertake activities, help each other, and look out for each other. Since 2026, 'Living with a Plus' locations have started at four sites, each with a location coordinator and hours for volunteer coordination and community building. A 'Living with a Plus' handbook is available.
