Automation Technician

Maintenance & troubleshooting.

• You are responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical and automation installations.
• You perform preventive maintenance according to the maintenance plan and CMMS system.
• You analyze and independently resolve electrical and technical faults.
• You support production with technical problems to minimize downtime.
• You inspect and maintain electrical installations, control cabinets, motors, pumps, and drives.
• You work with frequency converters and soft starters.
• You monitor the technical condition of installations and signal potential problems before they lead to a malfunction.
• You document the work performed and technical interventions.

Electricity & automation.

• You form the technical link between electricity and automation.
• You work with, among others: Siemens S7 and TIA Portal, DeltaV and AMS Manager, Profinet and Profibus, PLC-controlled systems and HMIs, electrical diagrams and technical documentation.
• You do not program yourself, but you can view a program to analyze the origin of error messages, follow signals down to the input level, and clearly report your findings to Automation Engineers.

Technical improvements.

• In addition to maintenance and troubleshooting, you also contribute to technical improvements and think along about optimizations to installations.
• You support technical modifications and improvement projects.
• You collaborate with Engineering and external partners when specialized support is needed.
• You help to structurally solve technical problems and prevent recurrence.
• You are a technical point of contact for operators and production managers when electrical or automation problems occur.

Safety & procedures.

• You work in a highly regulated environment where safety and correct execution are important.
• You follow the applicable safety regulations and LOTO procedures.
• You work according to the prescribed procedures and working methods.
• You respect the applicable GMP and quality requirements.
• You report incidents, near-misses, and deviations.
• You ensure correct registration of your activities.

What they ask

• A technical Bachelor's degree, for example in Electromechanics, Electricity, or Automation, or equivalent through experience.
• Relevant experience in maintenance, industrial technology, or a similar technical environment.
• A strong electrical technical foundation.
• Experience with fault analysis and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of automation and PLC systems, preferably Siemens S7 and TIA Portal.
• Preferably, knowledge of DCS systems such as DeltaV and AMS Manager.
• A basic knowledge of industrial networks such as Profinet and Profibus.
• The ability to read electrical diagrams and technical documentation.
• An analytical approach to understand and solve problems.
• The independence to analyze and solve technical problems.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical environment is a plus, but not an absolute requirement.
• BA5 is required.
• A VCA certificate is a plus or can be obtained.
• The entire team is Dutch-speaking; knowledge of English is useful for reading technical documentation.
