Research Nurse Intensive Care

• Coordinating, executing, and monitoring clinical scientific research according to applicable laws and regulations (ICH-GCP).
• Screening, selecting, and including study participants.
• Guiding study participants throughout the entire research process.
• Ensuring the safety, quality, and privacy of study participants.
• Maintaining contacts with researchers, sponsors, and other involved parties.
• Informing department colleagues about ongoing research.
• Developing and managing research documentation and procedures.

You will work within an Adult Intensive Care department of an academic medical center: an innovative and dynamic environment where complex, academic ICU care and scientific research go hand in hand. Within the department, a lot of scientific research is conducted, ranging from sponsor-initiated research (phase 2a/b and phase 3) to investigator-initiated studies.

You will join an ambitious team of research nurses, research coordinators, senior researchers, postdocs, and PhD students who collectively build an optimal research infrastructure. Thanks to intensive collaboration with national and international partners, you will be part of a broad and innovative research network and contribute to the development of tomorrow's healthcare.

As a research nurse, you will also be part of a Research Office that supports researchers within the themes of Emergency, Perioperative, and Intensive Care in conducting scientific research. Within this office, a team of research nurses is deployed across various departments within these themes. This allows you to combine the dynamics of Intensive Care research with the knowledge, experience, and collegial support of a larger group of research nurses.

What they ask As a research nurse, you are an important link within the research team. You work with study participants and their relatives, as well as with doctors, researchers, and other healthcare professionals. You coordinate the progress of studies and contribute to a careful and smooth running of the research process. Since research documentation and communication are regularly in English, you have a good command of both Dutch and English.

You are patient- and quality-oriented, keep a close eye on the progress of research, and signal important developments in a timely manner. With your organizational talent and eye for detail, you maintain an overview, even when multiple studies are running simultaneously. Friday is a mandatory working day; the remaining hours and working days can be flexibly arranged.

• A diploma in (IC) nursing, supplemented with a Research Nurse diploma OR demonstrable experience with medical-scientific research, with the willingness to follow the Research Nurse training.
• A BROK certificate, or the willingness to obtain it, and knowledge of or experience with the ICH-GCP guidelines.

• A one-year contract with the prospect of extension.
• A gross monthly salary of € 3,550 to € 5,341 (scale 8 or 9) for a full working week. With the Research Nurse diploma, you will be classified in scale 9. Without this diploma, you start in scale 8.
• A collective labor agreement salary increase of 3% as of May 2027.
