Together with other residential counselors and youth workers, you guide young people aged 13 to 18 in their personal development, independence, and undertaking of activities. The young people are supervised 24/7 so that from the age of 18, they can live independently in a reception center, their country of origin, or their own home in the Netherlands.
What you will do.
- Organize (group) activities with the young people, such as cooking, sports, or creative activities.
- If necessary, act as a shadow mentor for complex cases.
- Conduct methodical conversations with the young people.
- Perform room checks.
- Provide information.
- Work closely together in morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
- Regularly participate in meetings and (intervision) discussions to ensure quality.
Profile
- Be empathetic without losing professional distance.
- Be clear in setting boundaries.
- Be resilient and grounded.
- Be social, collegial, and reliable.
- Be available for day, evening, night, and weekend shifts (night shifts are always waking shifts).
- Always work with at least one other colleague.
What they ask
- Minimum of a completed MBO level 4 (equivalent) education in an agogic field, such as Social Work, Personal care assistant social care, Specific target group supervisor, or Pedagogical employee.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of methodical guidance.
- Knowledge of intercultural communication.
