Literary Programmer

This organization is a traveling incubator: a stage and meeting space for word artists of all genres, levels, and ages. A solid program structure is in place to ensure that writers in the region find a stage, learn new tricks of the trade, and build a literary network. To further strengthen the organizational foundation, the organization is looking for a literary programmer who wants to contribute their vision and insights to the program's content.

What you will do. You will be responsible for independently conceiving, developing, and executing the literary program within the existing framework of program components.

  • Programming: Develop and fill specific program components in consultation with the artistic and business director. For example, you will research which writers have related to a certain theme, or which writing coaches (from rappers to novelists) can give good workshops.
  • Creative input: Literature is broad, and we expect you to look beyond your literary nose for the content of our programs.
  • Writers' community: Our programming aims to strengthen the writers' community in the region. Frequent contact with writers of all experience levels and programming that benefits a growing network.
  • Organization: Independently arrange various practical matters, such as planning, budgets, marketing, and communication around events.

Profile

  • You have a completed HBO or WO education in Dutch language and literature, cultural sciences, media, or a comparable background.
  • You are a writer or connoisseur of literature.
  • You are strong in organization and communicatively skilled.
  • You have experience with programming in the cultural sector, preferably within literature, and can demonstrate that you can work independently and creatively.
  • You are entrepreneurial, curious, proactive, and not afraid to break new ground – the freedom offered by the organization appeals to you.
  • You have an inquisitive, eager-to-learn attitude and enjoy working in (changing) team contexts.
  • You have an eye for diversity, inclusivity, and innovation and strive for a program that offers development opportunities and a stage to different voices, levels, and perspectives.
  • You have a network in the literary world and have the ambition to expand it. You are also curious about the culture in neighboring regions and know your way around the local cultural world.
