Area Development Project Manager
Are you ready to use your expertise to visibly shape the urban development of a city? You ensure that complex projects are not only well executed but also genuinely contribute to the growth and liveability of the city. You are the link between vision and implementation, between administration, residents, and partners.
What you will do. It is your responsibility to guide, direct, and deliver results for projects in urban development and major maintenance. You ensure that projects are realised within the set frameworks of time, quality, budget, and risk. To achieve maximum results within your area of responsibility, we rely on your expertise, connecting power, and decisiveness.
The main areas of focus are:
- leading complex and integrated area development projects from planning to implementation
- coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external parties
- monitoring progress, budget, and quality (GROTIK)
- maintaining contact and negotiating with involved parties such as governments, residents
- ensuring that projects comply with laws and regulations, policy frameworks, and permit requirements
- identifying opportunities, risks, and areas for improvement within your projects
You are also the connecting link between external developments and the administrative interests of the organisation. You move smoothly between strategic, tactical, and operational levels and know how to align priorities effectively. You adhere to the principle: an agreement is an agreement.
Profile
You work within a project management team responsible for the planning, preparation, and realisation of physical projects in public spaces, where spatial, social, and economic interests converge.

Furthermore, for this specific role, it is important that you possess:
- higher professional education (hbo) + work and thinking level
- experience in a comparable role, with complex and/or large-scale area development projects (experience with a government organisation is a huge plus)
- knowledge of participation processes, tender procedures
- insight into land policy, land exploitation, and administrative decision-making
- good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written
