For a leading organization with an extensive and business-critical IT environment, an experienced Lead IT Infrastructure & Cloud Platforms is sought. The organization is in the midst of further professionalizing and modernizing its IT infrastructure. The focus is on bringing together traditional data center environments and modern cloud technology, increasing automation, and developing future-proof platform services.
In this role, you combine technical leadership, strategic product development, and people management. You will be responsible for multidisciplinary teams of engineers and product owners and will help determine the direction of a hybrid infrastructure landscape.
What you do
- Responsible for the further development, management, and professionalization of infrastructure and cloud platforms.
- Leading multidisciplinary teams of infrastructure engineers, cloud specialists, and product owners.
- Stimulating ownership, collaboration, and technical development within teams.
- Developing an integrated vision on hybrid infrastructure and translating it into concrete improvement initiatives, investments, and priorities.
- Guiding development towards scalable platform services, with Infrastructure as Code, automation, self-service, and standardization as key principles.
- Monitoring the coherence between existing data center technology and Microsoft Azure.
- Ensuring a robust, efficient, and future-proof platform landscape.
- Driving availability, information security, performance, continuity, and cost-efficiency of business-critical IT services.
- Collaborating closely with IT management, architects, product teams, and other internal stakeholders.
What they ask
- HBO/WO (higher professional education/university) work and thinking level, preferably with a technical or IT-related background.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience within IT Infrastructure, of which at least 2 years in a leadership position.
- Solid knowledge of both on-premise infrastructure and cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Demonstrable experience in managing and developing teams consisting of engineers, specialists, and product owners.
- Experience with Platform Engineering, Infrastructure as Code, and automating infrastructure services.
- Ability to translate a technical vision into an executable roadmap, including clear priorities.
- Experience within complex IT landscapes where security, availability, and business continuity are essential.
- Strong communication skills and experience with stakeholders at tactical and strategic levels.
- Good command of Dutch and English.
Preferences.
- Experience in transport, logistics, aviation, or organizations with large-scale physical infrastructure.
- Familiarity with environments where IT systems directly contribute to the continuity of operational processes.
