What you do
- Bear final responsibility for the organization's activities.
- Lead fundraising for structural and project financing, and contributions from individual members and corporate members.
- Function as the external figurehead of the organization in the media.
- Maintain contacts with politics and government to influence policy.
- Represent the organization nationally and internationally.
- Lead the team and ensure its proper functioning.
- Achieve the results as laid down in the multi-year strategy.
- Report to the board.
Profile
- Knowledge and experience with fundraising and the ability to contribute to growth.
- Affinity with and actively promoting the values, mission, and vision of the organization as a figurehead to donors, in the media, and within business, politics, and government.
- Experience with integrity, good governance, transparency, democratic rule of law, or social responsibility.
- Demonstrable experience in advocacy towards politics and government.
- Comfortable navigating political-administrative environments and carefully balancing independence, collaboration, and social impact.
- Relevant experience in organizational development and leading a (small) professional team, preferably an NGO.
- Actively maintain and expand the organization's network, both in the Netherlands and internationally (e.g., with the international secretariat and EU office and, where relevant, with chapters in other countries).
- Develop a strategic vision, translate it into action, and engage others in it.
- Experience in building coalitions and effective collaboration with civil society organizations, knowledge institutions, government, and business.
- Excellent oral and written skills in Dutch (working language) and English.
- Ability to inspire, connect, and strengthen people; sense of humor, flexible, and solution-oriented.
- Academic (WO) work and thinking level.
