This role focuses on improving the quality, shelf life, and sustainability of products within an organization that supplies flowers and plants to large-scale retailers. You will work on projects that directly influence product quality, from sea freight and new sourcing areas to cold chains, packaging materials, and product research. It is a hands-on role where you identify opportunities, create clear plans, bring the right people together, monitor progress, and ensure good ideas are implemented.
You will take the lead, bring structure, and work with involved colleagues and partners to achieve results.
What you do
- Guide projects in the field of product quality, shelf life, sourcing
- Translate data, test results, and research outcomes into practical improvements
- Guide growers and suppliers in quality and process improvements
- Perform process audits, chain tests, vase life research, and risk analyses
- Bring together colleagues from Quality, Purchasing, Logistics, and Supply Chain
- Research new products, growers, and sourcing areas together with Purchasing
- Monitor progress and ensure that good ideas are actually implemented
What they ask
- Completed HBO or WO education, for example in (Food) Technology, Horticulture, Agribusiness, Supply Chain, or Quality Management
- 3+ years of work experience in a similar position
- Preferably experience within the floriculture sector, quality, product development, sourcing, or supply chain
- Enjoys working project-based and maintaining an overview
- Easily switches with different people and interests
- Good communication skills in Dutch and English
- Enjoys visiting growers, suppliers, and production locations domestically and internationally
- Curious and dares to take responsibility
