Debt Management Officer Participation Act
This temporary assignment is to replace temporarily absent employees within a government organization. The activities take place within a Debt Management sub-team of a Work, Income, Youth, and Care department. This department works on a safety net for residents in vulnerable circumstances, such as support for employment, debts, income problems, care issues, and youth care. Close contact is maintained with external parties such as care providers and schools.
What you do
As a social domain debt management officer, you are responsible for managing and collecting outstanding claims under the Participation Act. Your tasks include:
- Monitoring and managing outstanding claims on residents without ongoing benefits from the municipality
- Drawing up customized payment arrangements, tailored to the resident's situation
- Proactively encouraging and motivating residents to repay outstanding claims
- Informing residents by phone and in writing about payment options
- Assessing requests for debt remission and writing off uncollectible claims
- Maintaining contacts with the collection agency and the bailiff
What they ask
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrable work experience as a debt management officer Participation Act at a government institution
- Demonstrable work experience in the past 5 years with Suite voor Sociaal Domein and MS Office
- Willingness to perform at least 75% of the work activities in the office during the assignment period
- Bring your own device: the candidate must bring their own mobile phone including a subscription and a laptop (no iPad). Workstations are equipped with USB-C (Thunderbolt) docking monitors.
Preferences.
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 7 years with debt management within the social domain at a government institution
- Minimum 1 year of demonstrable work experience with Suite voor Sociaal Domein
- Demonstrable work experience with making payment arrangements, assessing debt remissions, and/or writing off claims within the social domain
- Demonstrable completed education at a minimum of mbo-4 level in an administrative direction
