Sailor Engine Driver Inland Navigation Training Ship

• As a sailor, you will work on a training ship.
• You will transfer your professional knowledge to VMBO students, MBO students, as well as professionals and adults following Rhine and inland navigation courses.
• In addition to the technical aspects, you will provide instructions to students and guide them on board.
• You will independently perform all common tasks on deck and in the engine room.
• You will contribute to the maintenance and cleaning of the ship.
• You will assist the captain and provide instructions during departure, maneuvering, and mooring.

What they ask

• The ideal candidate is an experienced sailor who knows how to motivate and inspire target groups, and who:
• has at least two years of work experience as a sailor;
• possesses a sailor's diploma;
• has at least the 'sailor' stamp in their service book;
• has up-to-date knowledge of engines and electricity;
• has an EHBO (first aid) and BHV (emergency response) certificate, or is willing to obtain one;
• possesses the Passenger Navigation Expert and Breathing Apparatus Wearer certificate, or is willing to obtain one;
• is flexible and willing to work evenings and occasionally weekends;
• identifies with the core values: curiosity, craftsmanship, and respect.

• There are seven to eight weekly voyages per year, during which the crew is on board for the full working week.
• When the ship is not sailing, a crew member will stand watch, which is coordinated mutually.
• A one-year contract with the prospect of permanent employment.
• Salary from €2,373 - €3,404 gross per month (scale 6), depending on experience.
• 8.33% year-end bonus and 8% holiday pay.
