Communication Specialist

A Communication Specialist is sought for an environmental service organization. You will develop and refine the organization's strategic communication plan, creating a widely supported and practically applicable framework. You will connect organizational objectives with communication activities and ensure clear priorities and methods for measuring results. You will also analyze the structure of the communication team and advise on the positioning and strengthening of strategic communication.

What you will do.

• You will elaborate on and refine the existing strategic communication plan.
• You will create coherence between organizational objectives and communication activities.
• You will formulate clear, measurable goals, KPIs, and success indicators.
• You will analyze the setup, governance, and positioning of the communication team.
• You will advise on the optimal structure, required capacity, and possibilities for future strengthening.
• You will propose measures to structurally embed the communication plan and update it annually.
• You will contribute to the communication approach for an administrative exploration involving multiple environmental service organizations.
• You will collaborate on coordination between the involved organizations and on communication for municipal councils, employees, and other stakeholders.
• You will consider how the organizations can address questions and potential unrest during the process.

What they ask

• You have a completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level, preferably in communication, marketing, or business communication.
• You have at least 3 years of work experience in the past 5 years with developing and implementing strategic communication plans.
• You have at least 2 years of work experience in the past 5 years with formulating KPIs and making communication objectives measurable.
• You have at least 2 years of work experience in the past 5 years with strategic advising within a (semi-)public or administrative organization.
• You have demonstrable work experience with or concrete knowledge of an environmental service organization.

Preferences.

• You have demonstrable work experience in the past 7 years with developing and implementing strategic communication plans.
• You have demonstrable work experience with organizational advice at a strategic level.
• You have demonstrable work experience with formulating KPIs and measurable communication objectives.
• You can operate independently and autonomously, analytically, and results-oriented.
• You possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral in Dutch.
