Data Specialist

As a Data Specialist, you are the driving force behind the HR data needed to get the right information on the table.

  • You contribute to the important support of the management of a government organization.
  • With your specialization, information can be provided to enable quick and accurate decision-making.
  • You deliver valuable contributions to the organization and work towards being predictive based on data.

What you do

  • You have a dynamic role and work with colleagues from different parts of a large organization.
  • Extracting the right data, combining various data sources, and building relevant data pipelines and HR dashboards.
  • Developing a plan to further expand these dashboards and the data warehouse.
  • Professionalizing awareness, knowledge, and use of management information.
  • Providing relevant information to answer business questions.

Responsibilities.

  • Inventorying and analyzing available data within the (HR) operations of the organization and from other sources.
  • Applying data analysis and data science methods and techniques to extract value from data.
  • Making data available and accessible in a data warehouse environment in a usable form suitable for analysis.
  • Working with a diversity of data sources (open, closed, and commercial), with a focus on security, reliability, and availability.
  • Develops, researches, and maintains the (big) data architecture by:
  • Mapping the specifications of the desired data architecture in coordination with other parties, such as suppliers and users, to deliver the desired result.
  • Maintaining and managing data warehouses, (CI/CD) pipelines, and dashboards.
  • Ensures knowledge transfer by:
  • Recording/documenting and disseminating acquired knowledge in reports, presentations, and guidelines.
  • Sharing knowledge within the team.
  • Increasing data awareness among (end)users/stakeholders.

What they ask Technical.

  • Experience with developing data pipelines (ETL) and data modeling.
  • Experience with data visualization (PowerBI/PL-300).

Other.

  • A completed HBO (bachelor) education or HBO work and thinking level.
  • Experience participating in multidisciplinary teams/projects.
  • Experience in project-based collaboration for realizing end-to-end solutions.
  • Knowledge of Agile/SCRUM way of working.

Desired.

  • Experience with Python, SQL/Postgres, and Data Vault modeling is a plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git(lab) is a plus.
  • Affinity or experience with a public sector organization is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Data Science applications and solutions.
  • Knowledge of IT security, threat analysis, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of modern IT applications and techniques.
  • You are strongly analytical and quickly grasp complex issues.
  • You come up with creative solutions, take initiative, and actively collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • You are able to involve others in your ideas and advice and know how to exert influence to achieve joint results.

Practical

  • A security investigation is part of the selection procedure.
  • A reference check and assessment may be part of the selection procedure.
  • In case of high interest, the vacancy may close earlier.
  • To be eligible for this position, you must be from a country within the European Economic Area. If this is not the case, you must possess a combined residence and work permit (GVVA).
