Manager Physical Environment

A government organization faces a broad and challenging set of tasks within the physical environment domain. Important ambitions are being pursued in areas such as housing, sustainability, heat transition, spatial development, and the quality of public space. Capacity and financial resources are not unlimited, which requires clear choices, focus, and realistic priorities.

What you will do.

• Brings calm, overview, and focus to the domain.
• Together with team leaders, provides direction to the teams and ensures clear priorities.
• Manages the execution of decisions made and monitors the progress of important files and projects.
• Keeps track of capacity, finances, and risks, ensuring that bottlenecks are identified in a timely manner and discussed at the administrative level where necessary.
• Supports team leaders in setting priorities within their teams and holds them accountable for progress, results, and agreements made.
• Actively brings relevant strategic issues from the physical domain to the attention of the MT.
• Monitors the coherence between policy objectives, implementation capacity, and available resources.
• Provides a significant impulse to finding and developing an effective way of working on the main challenges of the physical domain.
• Contributes to a good approach to cross-domain issues, such as accelerated housing construction and the heat transition.
• Encourages employees and teams to connect, share knowledge and expertise, and achieve results together.
