For an engineering firm handling projects from A to Z, a project manager is sought with mechanical and hydraulics knowledge for public infrastructure projects. Typical projects range from €500k to €20m. You will manage projects, suppliers, and a small team of 4-5 engineers, work preparators, and assistant project managers.
What you will do.
- Take full responsibility for managing engineering projects from initiation to successful completion.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, external contractors, and technical partners to ensure effective project execution.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and deliverables while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Work closely with engineering teams to evaluate technical solutions, resolve challenges, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead and support project teams, encouraging collaboration, accountability, and effective communication.
- Monitor project performance, anticipate potential risks, and implement corrective actions where required.
Profile
- You have a technical bachelor's or master's degree (e.g., electromechanics or industrial engineering) and a minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
- Good knowledge of mechanics and exposure to hydraulics, welding, controls, and electricity.
- Experience on public infrastructure, waterways, and/or industrial engineering projects is an advantage. Exposure to public tenders and associated processes is also preferred.
- You are an enthusiastic and reliable team player who takes responsibility, stays calm in challenging projects, and knows how to motivate others.
- You communicate clearly, are good listeners, build relationships, and know how to connect different interests.
- Organizationally strong, pragmatic, and with the right mindset.
Practical
- Languages: Fluent Dutch and English, French is a bonus.
