OSINT Specialist

As an Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) specialist, you are a full-fledged intelligence professional within a specialized cluster. You collect and analyze information from open sources, social media, and digital environments. You translate this information into usable intelligence products, such as analyses of contacts, networks, threats, and phenomena. You work with the intelligence cycle as a guideline, from information need to final product.

What You Will Do.

  • Validate sources and document working methods for traceable and verifiable findings.
  • Clearly communicate the possibilities and limitations of open sources to colleagues and management.
  • Contribute to the digital resilience of the team.
  • Play an important role in OSINT development within the cluster.
  • Identify opportunities and risks in the OSINT domain and provide content-based advice.

Profile

  • You view OSINT as a profession and work methodologically.
  • You translate information needs into concrete search questions, weigh and validate sources, and report findings in a way that is useful to the recipient.
  • You combine online information with broader contextual knowledge (historical, societal, and cultural) and objectively and responsibly interpret what you observe.
  • Intrinsic understanding of the theme of subversion (drugs, violence, mainports, environment, human trafficking) and insight into how organized crime manifests online.
  • Up-to-date with current digital and technical developments and actively follows the OSINT domain.
  • Possesses a relevant network of digital specialists or has the competencies to build such a network.
  • Works discreetly, can handle highly sensitive information, and understands that diligence is a requirement.
  • Strong analytical skills and enjoys challenges.
  • Flexible for evening, weekend, and on-call duties.

  • Dutch nationality required (can also be a second nationality).
