As a Software Engineer E Utilities / PLC Programmer, you will manage the building automation of a new utility building for an international organization. You will design, program, and optimize Siemens S7 controls for electrical installations, with demonstrable effects on energy efficiency and reliability. You will handle the entire process: from concept and software design to commissioning and maintenance, within a utility environment.
You will work for a technical service provider in utility construction within the Service Projects department. This organization designs, engineers, and supervises electrical installations in utility buildings such as offices, healthcare institutions, and educational buildings. The focus is on reliable, safe, and energy-efficient electrical systems for both new construction and renovation and sustainability of existing buildings.
Projects cover the entire process from design and engineering to execution, commissioning, and maintenance, in close collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams within electrical engineering and mechanical engineering.
What you will do.
- Design software-based control solutions for electrical installations within utilities
- Program Siemens S7-PLCs for building automation and electrical systems
- Calculate and substantiate design choices for control solutions and security concepts
- Develop electrical and control designs into technical drawings, diagrams, and software documentation
- Prepare technical specifications and associated documentation for control and hardware interface
- Guide the execution and implementation of control software in electrical systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to realize solutions that meet functional and legal requirements
- Perform technical analyses of installations and software functions, and propose improvements in terms of reliability and energy efficiency
- Support the commissioning of electrical installations, including testing Siemens S7 programs
- Support the maintenance of existing installations by analyzing malfunctions and implementing software adjustments
What they ask
- MBO4 or HBO degree in a technical field
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Siemens S7 or equivalent PLC platform for control and automation solutions
- Knowledge of and minimum 5 years of experience with utility installations and software systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in communication and able to work well in multidisciplinary teams
- Good command of the Dutch language
