For the further development of an AI lab and an energy lab, we are looking for an entrepreneurial research coordinator who understands technology, brings people together, and knows how to convert new research opportunities into concrete projects.
The role involves recognizing technological opportunities, inspiring researchers, and bridging the gap between research, the manufacturing industry, and the broader innovation ecosystem.
What you will do.
- You will build a strong network within the regional innovation ecosystem.
- You will build upon existing collaborations with various knowledge institutions and companies.
- You will initiate and realize new research projects.
- You will take an active role in developing and submitting project proposals within national and European research and innovation programs.
- You will stimulate collaboration between the labs and actively seek opportunities at the intersection of AI, data, and energy.
- You will coordinate and strengthen the research teams.
- You will guide and support the researchers of the AI lab and energy lab, with attention to their talents, professional development, and research ambitions.
- You will create an environment where researchers can collaborate, take initiative, and further develop their expertise.
- You will monitor the progress, quality, and valorization of research projects and ensure a balance between research ambitions, available resources, and the needs of the field.
- You will stimulate knowledge sharing between the labs and with the educational programs within the Smart Technology cluster.
- You will contribute to the technological research strategy.
- You will follow relevant developments in AI, digitalization, the manufacturing industry, and the energy transition.
- You will identify new application possibilities and translate them, together with the researchers, into a future-oriented research agenda.
- You will support the further development of the research infrastructure and its valorization for companies, education, and professionals.
Profile
Required Diploma And Knowledge.
- Preferably a master's degree in industrial sciences, engineering sciences, computer science, energy, or a related technological field.
- Candidates with another relevant bachelor's or master's degree are also eligible if they demonstrably possess strong leadership and networking skills, combined with a pronounced interest in technology and industrial innovation.
- Broad technological interest and insight into the challenges companies face in digitalization and energy transition.
- A background in electrical or thermal engineering is a strong asset for the further development of the energy lab.
- A pronounced interest in the possibilities of data and artificial intelligence within energy systems.
- Good oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
- If you have a foreign diploma (with the exception of the Netherlands), an equivalence certificate from a recognized institution is required.
- Familiarity with or motivation to delve deeper into at least one of the following areas:
- Artificial intelligence, data, and digitalization.
- Industrial automation, robotics, and smart production environments.
- Electrical or thermal energy systems, renewable energy, and energy management.
Experience.
- Approximately 2 years of experience in a technical, leadership, or networking role is required.
