Privacy Advisor
A government organization is looking for a privacy advisor to update the processing register and to draft and update processor agreements. The organization processes personal data in the performance of its duties. These data processing operations are recorded in a register that includes approximately 26 processing activities. The register and the processor agreements have not been structurally updated in recent years.
The objective of the assignment is twofold: to update the registrations of data processing operations in the processing register, and to draft and/or update processor agreements with suppliers. For the processor agreements, a standard model of the Dutch government is used. You prepare the content of the agreements and coordinate them with the relevant suppliers. You will be positioned within an IT governance team and guided by a Senior IB&P Advisor.
What you will do.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate workshops and interviews with employees from the organization to discuss and, where necessary, update data processing operations.
- Update the data processing operations in the register, ensuring all registrations are current and complete.
- Identify where a DPIA or other follow-up investigation may be necessary during the update process and document this.
- Inventory which suppliers do not yet have a processor agreement where it is necessary, and which existing processor agreements are outdated.
- Update outdated processor agreements and draft new ones where they are missing, based on the standard model of the Dutch government.
- Regularly coordinate with the Senior IB&P Advisor throughout the assignment regarding progress, prioritization, and substantive choices.
Profile
- Completed academic level education in a relevant field.
- Relevant certifications in privacy, preferably CIPP/E and/or CIPM (or similar).
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience in a similar role at a comparable level.
- Understanding of administrative and political relations and decision-making processes.
- Excellent written and oral skills (NL & EN).
- Excellent advisory skills and a hands-on mentality.
- Knowledge and experience with the Dutch government, knowledge and experience with a ministry or one of its chain partners is a plus.
