Team Leader

• You are responsible for leading a scientific development team and the personnel coordination of PhD candidates.
• The team primarily consists of data scientists, complemented by a product owner and a business analyst.
• The team has grown and includes sub-teams with expertise in computer vision, natural language processing, operational applications, and robotics.
• You are involved in personnel care and are substantively engaged in projects.
• You are responsible for project planning and preparation, ensuring the work contributes to the organization.
• You delve into organizational issues and know how to connect the right people and resources to solve problems.
• You develop the vision and long-term evolution of AI within the organization and communicate about it at tactical and strategic levels.
• You maintain strong connections with the rest of the organization and chain partners, including other AI and data science development teams and operational users.
• You collaborate closely with a central support department for standardization, community, ethical, and legal aspects, and a project team focused on business analysis and enterprise developments.
• The goal is to develop AI models that add value to operations and are legally, ethically, socially, and sustainably responsible.
• You help integrate these models into service delivery.
• The team collaborates with academic institutions where PhD candidates, master's students, postdocs, and senior scientists conduct AI research.
• The scientific development team bridges research and operational application, translating AI and data science knowledge into concrete solutions.

What they ask

• HBO (bachelor) working and thinking level, preferably in AI, data science, or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience with (applying) data science and managing data scientists.
• Experience working and coordinating in an operationally and technically complex environment.
• A clear vision on the responsible deployment of AI within a large government organization.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and oral.
