The execution of legal tasks takes place in a challenging field of tension, where these tasks sometimes seem to conflict with other provincial objectives, such as housing, energy, flood safety, and mobility. Due to the need for coaching and guidance for juniors, the increase in complex cases, and policy development, the organization is looking for several senior permit officers for a period of at least one year.
What you will do.
- Conduct (preliminary) consultations with initiators, plan supervisors, and ecological advisors.
- Develop new policies in collaboration with internal departments and target groups to improve and simplify tasks.
- Stay informed of developments in the field and translate these into permit issuance, both in terms of content and for the development of the workload.
- Assess and decide on complex permit applications in a timely manner and with high quality, with an emphasis on nitrogen dossiers and sensitive social projects.
- Draft strategic policy advice on nitrogen and social issues for senior management and the board.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of nitrogen policy rules and associated monitoring systems.
- Identify bottlenecks and ensure smooth communication with other authorities, internal departments, and external partners.
- Coach and guide juniors, share knowledge, and monitor work processes and workload.
Profile
You will be part of a Permit Issuance team, participate in team meetings, and work under hierarchical management within the line organization. You contribute to the team's functioning and the progress of the workload. You are the first point of contact within and outside the team.
What they ask
- Minimum of 5 years demonstrable experience (gained between 2018 and present) in the role of N2000 Permit Officer and fully up-to-date with developments in the nitrogen dossier (national and regional).
- Demonstrable experience (gained between 2018 and present) as a senior in coaching and guiding juniors, both on content and soft skills.
- Demonstrable knowledge of and/or experience with nitrogen offsetting policy rules, as established by provincial states, and the ability to interpret and translate these policy rules into implementation.
Preferences.
- Demonstrable experience in drafting, translating, and implementing new policies, to be demonstrated with practical examples.
- Demonstrable experience in coaching and guiding junior permit officers on all aspects such as industrial, agricultural, and legal, to be demonstrated with practical examples.
- At least a completed HBO (higher professional education) degree.
