QESH Manager

This role goes beyond quality alone. You will work across different business units on quality, food safety, safety, prevention, sustainability, and environment.

  • You will work closely with the shop floor, with direct lines to the CEO, and with room for initiative and impact.
  • The organization is a family business, an international partner for food professionals with approximately 350 employees and multiple locations.

What you will do.

  • You will lead a dedicated QESH team of four employees, consisting of a QESH Officer (also prevention advisor and point of contact for sustainability and environment) and three Quality Officers (two for trading and wholesale activities, one for production).
  • You will manage and optimize the quality management system and monitor various standards, including IFS, BRC, FCA, BIO, RSPO, ACS Groothandel, Choprabisco, Rainforest Alliance, and Fairtrade.
  • You will coordinate audits and be the point of contact for certification bodies.
  • You will work organization-wide with production, purchasing, logistics, and other departments on quality, food safety, safety, environment, and sustainability.
  • You will analyze risks at suppliers, raw materials, and logistical processes to ensure quality and food safety throughout the chain.
  • You will regularly conduct site visits, speak with employees and managers, provide training, and stay in touch with what is happening on the shop floor.
  • You will monitor legislation, RASFF alerts, and certification requirements, translating changes into clear guidelines and actions.
  • You will advise the management on important QESH issues and contribute your expertise to projects and optimizations.

What they ask

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Bio-engineer, Food Technology, Chemistry, or equivalent by experience.
  • Relevant work experience in a quality management position within the food industry.
  • Good knowledge of HACCP, BRC, IFS, and other relevant quality and food safety standards.
  • Fluent in spoken and written Dutch, and good professional knowledge of English and French.
  • Experience in managing and coaching a team.
  • Proficient with digital tools and systems.
