Social Shelter Trajectory Coach
You will contribute to building a new shelter facility and support individuals in their journey towards independence. The role is at the intersection of shelter and housing. You will assist people without stable housing and contribute to the development of a new location and a growing team within a care organization.
What you do
- Start the week with screenings or triage interviews to assess clients' situations and determine the necessary support.
- Create a safe and welcoming environment at the shelter locations, while working with clients on prospects and transition to a next living situation.
- Guide clients: Develop a plan with clients, offer support with finances, applications, and daily matters, and help them regain control over their lives.
- Organize transitions: Work towards appropriate follow-up steps, such as transitional housing, Housing First, or guidance through specialized programs, ensuring the shelter remains a temporary step.
- Collaborate with partners: Coordinate with neighborhood teams, municipalities, and other involved organizations to ensure smooth transitions.
- Support clients and involve them in activities at the locations, contributing to an environment where people feel welcome and heard.
What they ask
- HBO Social Work or a comparable education.
- Experience within social shelter, the social domain, or a similar work environment.
- Knowledge of finances, debts, allowances, and municipal applications.
- Knowledge of methodologies such as Krachtwerk, Presentie, or a comparable approach.
- Derive satisfaction from guiding people towards more stability and independence.
- Identify opportunities, maintain an overview, and provide support tailored to clients' needs.
- Easily navigate between practical guidance, collaboration with partners, and discussions about the future.
- Experience as an expert by experience is a plus.
About the team. You will work in a team that is in a development phase and will further expand with coaches and a manager. You will have the opportunity to contribute to work processes, collaboration, and the design of guidance. There is close cooperation with an another team that has been active for longer in guiding clients with various programs. Social shelter is continuously evolving, offering space to build together and shape new working methods.
Practical
- One-year contract.
- Gross salary between € 3,168 and € 5,216 per month for a full-time position (scale 7/8 collective labor agreement Social Work).
- Individual choice budget (IKB) of 17% of salary and an individual career budget of 1.5%.

- Travel expense reimbursement and pension scheme (PFZW).
