You will work in a charming and homely residential villa located in a wooded area. Eight young people aged 16 to 23 with a mild to moderate intellectual disability live at this location. The young people function cognitively at the level of a mild to moderate intellectual disability, with emotional development often lagging behind. There are additional issues such as an autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and/or attachment problems.
Difficult-to-understand behavior (physical and verbal aggression) can manifest if a child does not feel understood or safe. On weekdays, the young people go to school or day care. In the group, they follow a daily program focused on leisure and developmental work, and are involved in household tasks. 24-hour care is provided, including a sleep-in shift. You are also responsible for young people at another location within the same villa.
The work is based on a pedagogical vision with anthroposophical principles, including working with rhythms.
What you do
- Provide guidance to young people from an anthroposophical perspective and support them in their daily care.
- Build a relationship of trust with the young people.
- Ensure that young people can be children and continue to develop.
- Fulfill multiple personal guidance roles for the young people.
- Maintain intensive contact with the parents of the young people using the 'triangle' method.
- Be part of a team that is developing into a self-managing team, with tasks such as scheduling, finance, and/or safety.
What they ask
- MBO (intermediate vocational education) diploma in care (social care or nursing assistant) at least level 3.
- Experience in guiding young people with attachment problems and autism.
- Flexible availability in evenings, weekends, and on holidays, including sleep-in shifts and various 3, 7, and 8-hour shifts.
- Familiarity with the anthroposophical vision, or willingness to delve into it and follow the vision.
- Be consistent, strong, and firm.
- Ability to work structured and provide structure to the young people.
