A medical analysis laboratory, located in Belgium, is seeking a medical secretary. The laboratory has a central facility in new, modern premises and two local laboratories. With over 30 years of experience, the laboratory performs comprehensive analyses in classical biology for accurate diagnoses and has developed an innovative preventive biology division.
What you will do. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the complete administrative management of patient files, from the reception of samples to the secure dissemination of results, in close collaboration with biologists, technologists, and external prescribers.
Responsibilities.
- Reception & control of samples: compliance of sample-request, labeling, data completeness.
- Administrative processing: encoding in the LIMS, filing, scanning, management of non-conformities.
- Daily medical management: incoming calls (prescribers, nurses, patients), follow-up of correspondence, and rapid communication of urgent results.
- Quality & traceability: participation in the drafting/revision of ISO 15189 documentation, recording of deviations, proposals for continuous improvement.
- Communication: clear information relay between biologists, technologists, and external partners.
Profile
- Diploma as a medical secretary or equivalent relevant experience, with mastery of medical terminology, pre-analytical workflows, and LIMS.
- Rigorous organization: simultaneous management of multiple files, prioritization, and strict adherence to quality standards and GDPR.
- Clear and empathetic communication towards patients, prescribers, and internal teams, including under pressure.
- Team spirit and autonomy: fluid collaboration with multidisciplinary profiles while assuming a high level of individual responsibility.
- Stress resistance and critical thinking to identify inconsistencies, propose continuous improvements, and ensure impeccable traceability.
