Mechanical & Piping Project Engineer

• As a Mechanical & Piping project engineer within multidisciplinary teams, you translate process and project requirements into strong mechanical concepts and detailed designs (layouts, equipment specifications, P&IDs, piping diagrams, and isometrics).
• You manage external engineering partners (EPCM) and contractors and technically review their work.
• Additionally, you prepare specifications, tender documents, and RFQs, evaluate offers, and technically coordinate with suppliers of equipment and piping components.
• You support the project manager with cost estimates, planning, and risk assessments, and manage these independently for smaller projects.
• You closely monitor site activities (technical standards, safety, punch lists) and provide technical support during pre-commissioning and startup of the installations.

What they ask

• Technical Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electromechanics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical & piping engineering in an industrial project environment, of which at least 3 years as a Project Engineer.
• Demonstrable experience in technically managing external engineering partners (EPCM).
• Experience in a brownfield environment is a strong asset.
• In-depth knowledge of static and rotating equipment, piping systems, materials, supports, pumps, fittings, and basic thermodynamics.
• Ability to work independently with 2D and 3D design tools such as AutoCAD or Plant 3D.
• Sense of responsibility, assertiveness, strong communication skills, and a cost-conscious, pragmatic attitude.
• You hold a VCA-VOL certificate (or are willing to obtain it quickly).
• Fluent Dutch with a good active knowledge of English.
