More and more people with overweight or obesity are being treated with medication. Surprisingly little is known about the effects of this treatment on dietary intake, eating behavior, and vitamin status. This research project, a collaboration between a specialized clinic and an academic institution, focuses on this relatively unexplored research area. You will combine clinical work with a PhD trajectory.
What you will do. As a researcher, you will map:
- How dietary intake, food preferences, and eating behavior change during medicinal treatment
- How often nutritional and vitamin deficiencies occur in this target group
- What the best preventive treatment for this is
Your research will range from cross-sectional questionnaire research to nutrikinetic research, within a research group at the academic institution. You will join an active research group with multiple PhD candidates and receive substantive guidance. As a physician, you will guide clients treated with both surgery and medication, together with a coach. Additionally, you will be responsible for medical supervision and controls.
